Appliance Rebate ProgramEffective May 1, 2000, Worthington Public Utilities implemented a rebate program designed for customers of Worthington Public Utilities who present proof of purchase of a horizontal-axis clothes washer or ENERGY STARŪ rated dishwasher. The ENERGY STARŪ rating is established by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy.Effective July 1, 2002, the program was expanded to include ENERGY STARŪ rated refrigerators, room air conditioners, central air conditioners and dehumidifiers. The program entitles our customers to the following rebates:
*up to 6 strings maximum Simply submit a completed rebate claim form along with proof of purchase to Worthington Public Utilities and your rebate check will be mailed to your home. Rebate claim forms are available at local appliance dealers and Worthington Public Utilities. The program has been developed to heighten customer awareness of the importance of water and energy conservation. Bright Energy Solutions-Commercial and Industrial CustomersEffective January 1, 2008, Worthington Public Utilities (WPU) and Missouri River Energy Services implemented the Bright Energy Solutions demand reduction program for WPU commercial and industrial customers. The following Bright Energy Solutions programs were designed to encourage the installation and use of energy efficient electrical equipment that will significantly reduce the demand and energy consumption of commercial and industrial customers:
