When considering outdoor projects around the home such as landscaping, deck building and sidewalk or driveway replacement that requires digging, state law requires that you call Gopher State One Call at 1-800-252-1166 before beginning a project. Gopher State One Call is a service that is provided to protect you, your family and the utilities that are located underground.

When calling to request this service, the Gopher State operator will gather necessary information such as your name, phone number, a street address, nearest intersection, the type of project, how long the project will take and the site location. Gopher State will then contact all parties which may have underground utilities in the proposed work area. Representatives will be dispatched to the work site and mark the locations of all undergrouond utilities with paint or flags. All requests for underground locations must be made a minimum of 48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays) prior to commencement of work.

Gopher State One Call system is provided to homeowners and excavators free of charge. It serves as a convenience for customers where all utilities can be notified with one call and also protects the millions of dollars in utilities which are buried underground.
